In The Life of Tony

~

One time a farmer friend of mine, actually a hobby farm type farmer, was selling off his multitudes of hobby farm equipment, plows, disks and every imaginable thing one might encounter with a hobby farmer's extensive collection of, well, things. He held a very well attended auction.

At this auction his daughters were selling pop (soda) and little bags of potato chips. I went to buy a pop (soda) and one of his daughters, I'm guessing around 9 years old, waited on me. She was quite the little sales lady, as, among the different bags of chips was one flavor she just could not sell, it was some horrid flavor, I do not recall what.

During our, her, conversation I told her "But what if I eat that bag of chips and Miss America comes by and wants to give me a smooch and my breath would kill a hog"?

To which she replied:

"Well <emphasis> Miss America isn't here, and she wouldn't kiss you if she were"!

You might think, as I once did, that the fairer gender went to some kind of school to learn the art of womanhood. You would be wrong; it is within them from the moment of conception, make no mistake about that!

I bought a bag, and Miss America was nowhere to be found.
